Job summary

Assegaf Hamzah & Partners in Jakarta is looking for a professional to lead the development and implementation of risk management and compliance policies. You will conduct thorough risk assessments, ensure compliance with Indonesian laws, and provide advisory on risk exposure to partners and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of experience in risk management. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Job description

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk management and compliance policies.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments on client engagements, legal matters, and internal processes.
• Oversee and manage conflict of interest checks and complex client due diligence reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Indonesian laws, regulatory requirements, and professional ethical standards.
• Advise partners and internal stakeholders on legal, regulatory, and reputational risk exposure.
• Review and approve client onboarding from a risk and compliance perspective (including KYC and beneficial ownership).
• Lead internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting processes.
• Monitor and analyze key risk indicators (KRIs) and present insights to senior management.
• Handle incident management processes, including investigation, escalation, and remediation.
• Develop and deliver firm-wide training on risk management, compliance, and ethics.
• Ensure proper documentation, audit trails, and governance standards are maintained.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, or other relevant disciplines (Law degree is an advantage but not mandatory).
• Minimum 6–8 years of experience in risk management, compliance, legal, or related functions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk frameworks, and professional ethics in Indonesia.
• Proven experience in handling complex risk assessments, client due diligence, or compliance advisory.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including partners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Background experience priority: Law Firm, Professional Services Firms, Banking & Financial Services, Multinational Corporations.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Risk Management or Compliance (e.g., CRMP, CAMS, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with AML, KYC, and Indonesia data privacy regulations (PDP Law).
• Experience in a highly regulated or professional services environment.
