Job summary

Eka Jaya Group is hiring a Product Development Assistant Manager to lead end-to-end product development across skincare, body care, and makeup lines. You will oversee NPD and reformulation projects, coordinate with Marketing, QA, Regulatory, and Manufacturing, and ensure timely execution from concept to market.

The role requires a strong background in formulation development, stability testing, scale-up processes, and BPOM/regulatory awareness, with excellent English communication and team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related science field.
• Minimum 5–7 years in product development or R&D in skincare/cosmetics/FMCG.
• Experience leading multiple NPD and reformulation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development across skincare, body care, and makeup categories.
• Track timelines with PM tools; flag delays and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate feasibility, cost, and timeline with R&D and Marketing.
• Supervise category supervisors to ensure proper execution of NPD and reformulations.
• Coordinate with Regulatory, QA, Procurement, and Manufacturing for approvals and material availability.
• Ensure complete PD documentation and support scale-up trials.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related science field
• 5–7 years of experience in product development or R&D within skincare, cosmetics or FMCG industry
• Experience leading multiple NPD (new product development) and reformulation projects concurrently
• Strong understanding of formulation development, stability testing, scale-up, and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with BPOM regulations, safety assessments, ingredient restrictions, and global compliance standards
• Ability to interpret marketing briefs and translate them into feasible product concepts
• Solid cross-functional collaboration skills with Marketing, QA, Regulatory, Procurement, and Manufacturing
• Proficiency in project management tools (Excel, Gantt charts, Trello, Asana)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Good command of English (written & spoken)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing tight timelines

Job Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Product Development: Lead and oversee all product development activities across categories (skincare, body care, makeup); ensure concepts are translated into manufacturable products
• Project Management: Track project timelines using project management tools; flag potential delays and implement corrective actions
• Concept Feasibility: Work with R&D and Marketing to evaluate the technical feasibility, cost, and timeline of product concepts
• Team Supervision: Guide and supervise category supervisors to ensure proper execution of NPD and reformulation projects
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with Regulatory, QA, Procurement, and Manufacturing to secure formulation approval, raw material availability, and production feasibility
• Documentation Governance: Ensure completeness and proper archiving of all PD documents (briefs, formulas, specs, test reports)
• Pilot & Scale-Up Coordination: Support pilot batch activities, compatibility testing, stability testing, and scale-up trials prior to mass production
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure products meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements before market release
• Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce delays, and increase execution efficiency
• Team Development: Coach and develop category supervisors; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and proactive problem-solving
