Job summary

Dexis is seeking a Senior Global Health Security Epidemiology Advisor to support the U.S. Embassy Jakarta ECON Health Unit and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health on surveillance, outbreak response, and One Health initiatives.

The role is remote with occasional on-site engagements, providing strategic epidemiology guidance, data analysis, and capacity building for national teams while coordinating with international partners and donors.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven experience in applied epidemiology and global health with publications.
• Advanced expertise in epidemiology, analytics, and collaboration with governments and international partners.
• Experience in outbreak investigation and emergency response.
• Proficiency in epidemiological software (R, Stata, SAS or similar).
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; work authorization in Indonesia.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical guidance on epidemiological methods, surveillance systems, risk communications, and outbreak investigations.
• Lead design, assessment and recommendations for zoonotic disease surveillance and early warning systems.
• Lead drafting of One Health guidelines focusing on zoonotic prevention and pandemic preparedness.
• Analyze epidemiological data to inform policy and decision-making on zoonotic diseases and One Health data systems.
• Mentor and build capacity of national and sub-national epidemiology teams.
• Coordinate responses to infectious disease outbreaks and public health emergencies when needed.
• Contribute to technical reports, publications, and strategic documents.
• Collaborate with partners to align strategies and avoid duplication.
• Participate in bi-weekly coordination meetings with U.S. Embassy Jakarta ECON Health Unit.
