Job summary

TELUS Digital AI Community seeks an AI Speech & Audio Specialist to advance ASR, TTS, and voice-based AI projects. You will evaluate and refine AI-produced speech, handle audio segmentation and quality checks, and contribute to high-quality speech datasets for model training.

Ideal candidates have education in audio/speech fields or professional voice recording experience, plus familiarity with DAWs and audio processing tools. Remote, flexible engagement with a global community is offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Audio Engineering, Sound Engineering, Music Technology, Phonetics, Speech-Language Pathology, Computer Science (Speech/AI focus) or related audio/speech fields.
Professional experience in voice recording.
Experience with at least one professional audio tool (DAW/processing software).
Knowledge of audio editing/restoration, speech segmentation, spectrogram analysis, and audio quality assessment.

Responsibilities

Evaluate AI-generated speech (TTS) for naturalness, pronunciation accuracy, rhythm, tone, emotion, and overall voice quality.
Review and improve speech recognition outputs (ASR) by identifying transcription errors and linguistic nuances.
Perform professional audio editing tasks including segmentation, trimming, noise reduction, and quality enhancement.
Analyze audio recordings using waveform and spectrogram-based tools to identify quality issues.
Support the creation and validation of high-quality speech datasets used for AI model training and evaluation.
Review voice recordings for clarity, articulation, and technical quality.
