TELUS Digital invites you to join our AI Community as an AI Speech & Audio Specialist, contributing to ASR, TTS, and Voice AI across global projects.

Evaluate AI-generated speech for naturalness, perform audio editing, and help validate high-quality datasets used to train models. Native-language proficiency is preferred; English for instructions.

This independent contractor role offers remote, flexible engagement with a diverse global community spanning 500+ languages and 20+ domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in audio or speech fields or CS with AI focus.
• Or professional experience in voice recording.
• Experience with DAWs: iZotope RX, Reaper, Audacity, Logic Pro, Cubase, etc.
• Knowledge of audio editing/restoration and spectrogram analysis.
• Native-level proficiency in required language; English for guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated speech for naturalness and voice quality.
• Review ASR outputs for transcription accuracy and nuances.
• Perform audio editing: segmentation, trimming, noise reduction.
• Analyze recordings using waveform and spectrogram tools.
• Support creation and validation of speech datasets.
• Review voice recordings for clarity and technical quality.
• Conduct audio quality checks: loudness, noise, clipping, export specs.
• Support voice AI projects including TTS, ASR and voice generation.
• Apply phonetics and linguistics expertise to improve voice experiences.
