Job summary

TELUS Digital invites experts in speech and audio to join its AI Community as an AI Speech & Audio Specialist. You will contribute to ASR, TTS, voice AI, and audio ML systems, leveraging your expertise in linguistics, phonetics, and audio engineering to build natural, culturally aware voice experiences.

You will work with a global community to evaluate, refine datasets, and improve audio quality through professional editing, quality checks, and project-specific assessments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one of the following in education or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience in voice recording.
• Experience with at least one professional audio tool (DAWs).
• Knowledge of audio editing, segmentation, spectrogram analysis, and quality assessment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated speech (TTS) for naturalness and pronunciation accuracy.
• Review and improve ASR outputs by identifying transcription issues and linguistic nuances.
• Perform audio editing tasks including segmentation, trimming, and noise reduction.
• Analyze recordings using waveform/spectrogram tools to identify quality issues.
• Support creation and validation of high-quality speech datasets for AI model training.
• Review voice recordings for clarity and technical quality.
• Perform audio quality checks including loudness, noise, clipping, distortion, and export specs.
• Support voice AI projects including TTS, ASR, voice generation, and evaluation.
• Apply phonetics, linguistics, and audio engineering to improve AI voice experiences.
