Job summary

Kulu is hiring an infrastructure engineer to join the Foundation team in Bali. You will migrate from AWS to GCP, build monitoring from scratch, and keep production healthy when things break. You will influence architectural decisions focused on correctness, data integrity, and security.

You will own the realtime platform, including WebRTC, streaming LLM sessions, and the Python backend, while ensuring robust CI/CD and IaC practices. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production experience in a DevOps/SRE/Cloud Engineer role.
• Production experience writing and owning infrastructure as code (Terraform/OpenTofu).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or equivalent).
• Strong programming skills in Python (asyncio, FastAPI or similar) and shell scripting (Bash).
• Operational AWS or GCP experience with IAM, secrets management, VPC and networking.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the realtime platform on which Kulu's AI assistant runs: WebRTC media, streaming LLM sessions, and the Python backend.
• Own reliability, performance, and observability of core services: end-to-end pipeline, rooms, agents, audio in/out, and the recording pipeline.
• Own the LLM streaming session layer: connection lifecycle, streaming, reconnection, tool-call plumbing, timeouts, and watchdogs.
• Own deployment and infrastructure across AWS and CI/CD pipelines; drive infrastructure-as-code (OpenTofu).
• Maintain production platform and respond to incidents: triage, root-cause, fixes, and feed learnings into telemetry and code.
