Realtime AI Infra Engineer – GCP Migration

Job summary

Kulu is hiring an infrastructure engineer to join the Foundation team in Bali. You will migrate from AWS to GCP, build monitoring from the ground up, and keep production healthy as the platform scales.

You will own the realtime platform infrastructure, the end-to-end pipeline, and the telemetry that turns incidents into actionable insights. Working closely with the CTO, you will ensure secure, observable, and reliable services while contributing to architecture decisions and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production experience in a DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, or backend infrastructure role.
• Production experience owning infrastructure as code (Terraform/OpenTofu).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or equivalent).
• Strong programming skills in Python and shell scripting (bash).
• Operational experience with AWS or GCP and IAM, secrets management, VPC and networking.
• Hands-on CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Understanding of distributed systems and fault-tolerant design.
• Relational DB skills (PostgreSQL); Redis in production.
• Security best practices for infra and apps.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kulu's real-time platform infrastructure: WebRTC, streaming LLM sessions, and Python backend.
• Own reliability, performance, observability of core services end-to-end, including telemetry and incident response.
• Manage the LLM streaming session layer, connections, reconnection, tool calls, timeouts, and watchdogs.
• Own deployment across AWS and CI/CD pipelines; drive IaC programme (OpenTofu).
• Maintain production health: triage, root-cause analysis, and fix live issues with telemetry and runbooks.
• Build services handling sensitive meeting data with privacy, correctness, and auditability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scaling, data integrity, and security.
• Apply strong engineering fundamentals: well-tested code, clear data models, resilient systems.
• Maintain documentation and champion operational excellence.
• Deliver end-to-end: migration, deployment, and post-deployment dashboards.
