PT China Glaze Indonesia is seeking an R&D chemist to drive new product development, formulation improvements, and materials evaluation. You will conduct laboratory experiments, assess raw materials, and participate in production trials at the factory, coordinating with QA/QC, Purchasing, and Production teams.
The role requires a chemistry/engineering degree and 1–3 years of R&D or manufacturing experience, with strong data analysis skills and proficiency in MS Office.
This role is responsible for the development of new products, formulation, and improvement of existing products. You will conduct experiments, testing, and evaluation of raw materials, formulations, and product characteristics, as well as execute laboratory trials and production trials at the factory.
Develop new products, formulations, and improvements to existing products
Conduct experiments, testing, and evaluation of raw materials, formulations, and product characteristics
Execute trials in the laboratory and production trials at the factory
Analyze experimental results and production trial outcomes, identify root causes of problems, and provide improvement solutions
Support the scale-up process of new products and production process improvements
Evaluate new raw materials and develop alternative raw materials to reduce product costs
Create and manage formulas, experimental records, product specifications, and R&D technical documents
Coordinate and collaborate with Production, QA/QC, Purchasing, and other related departments
Able to communicate in Mandarin Chinese or English preferred
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 preferred
Minimum D3/S1 degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, or related field
1-3 years of experience in R&D, laboratory, or manufacturing industry preferred
Experience in ceramics, frit, glaze, glass, inorganic materials, or chemicals preferred
Experience in product development, formulation, raw material evaluation, experimentation, and production trials
Strong data analysis capabilities, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Able to conduct experiments independently, record data, and prepare R&D reports
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Willing to work in laboratory settings and conduct trials in production areas
Meticulous, proactive, responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Capable of innovation and product development with willingness to learn new technologies
