Job summary

PT JAC Consulting Indonesia is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation and BOQ preparation for complex MEP projects in Jakarta.

You will review tender documents and technical drawings, perform quantity take-offs, evaluate subcontractor quotes, and manage budgeting, progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts to protect project profitability. Strong English and Excel skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering or quantity surveying field.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in QS/cost control roles on construction/MEP projects.
• Strong BOQ preparation, estimation, budgeting, tendering, and contract admin skills.
• Familiar with project drawings and specifications; proficient in Excel and QS software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs for MEP projects
• Review tender documents, technical drawings, and project specs
• Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection
• Prepare tender submissions, quotations, and commercial proposals
• Monitor project costs and ensure expenditures stay within budget

• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, and site teams on costs
• Identify cost-saving opportunities to support profitability
• Prepare periodic cost reports and management summaries

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• Around 10 years of experience as Quantity Surveyor, Cost Control Engineer, Estimator, or similar role
• Experience handling construction, MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or industrial projects
• Strong understanding of BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tendering, budgeting, and contract administration
• Familiar with project drawings and technical specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software
• Good analytical and negotiation skills
• Able to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• English communication skills are preferred
• Experience working in MEP contractor environment is an advantage
