Job summary

PT KEPODANG MAKMUR SEJAHTERA in Batam is seeking a Project Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to develop cost estimates, prepare BOQs, and support tender submissions for construction projects.

You will review drawings, assess material and labor requirements, and coordinate with engineering and procurement to ensure accurate costing. Proficiency in Excel and strong numerical skills are essential; experience in oil & gas or shipyard projects is a plus.

Qualifications

Job description

Calculate material requirements and estimated material costs.

Calculate manpower requirements, labor hours, and manpower costs.

Estimate equipment, tools, transportation, and other project-related costs.

Obtain and compare material and service quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost breakdowns, and project costing sheets.

Calculate project fees, mark-ups, and proposed project prices.

Analyze project costs and provide estimates of potential project margins.

Review project drawings, specifications, scope of work, and tender documents.

Identify potential cost risks, exclusions, and assumptions in project estimates.

Coordinate with the project, engineering, procurement, and management teams to ensure accurate costing.

Assist in preparing commercial proposals and tender submissions.

Maintain and update cost databases for materials, manpower, equipment, and subcontractor rates.

Provide cost analysis and recommendations to management before project submission.

Requirements

Minimum Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

Experience as a Project Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, Cost Estimator, or similar position in the construction industry.

Good understanding of construction materials, manpower requirements, and project costing.

Able to read and understand construction drawings and project specifications.

Familiar with BOQ, cost breakdown, quotation comparison, and project pricing.

Good analytical and numerical skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with spreadsheet-based costing.

Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Experience in workshop construction, oil & gas, shipyard, fabrication, modular construction, or industrial projects will be an advantage.
