Sherman Mineral Indonesia is seeking a Community Relations Specialist to build and maintain relationships with local communities, village leaders, and government around the mining site. You will act as the main liaison between the company and external stakeholders, manage CSR programs, handle complaints, coordinate socialization activities, and monitor conditions that may affect operations.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in communications or related field, 2–4 years in community
Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, village leaders (tokoh masyarakat), and local government around the mining site
Act as the main liaison between the company and external stakeholders, including community members, NGOs, and local authorities
Manage community development (CSR) programs and monitor their implementation and impact
Handle community complaints, grievances, and social issues in a timely and professional manner
Coordinate socialization activities, public consultations, and community meetings related to company operations
Monitor social, political, and security conditions around the site that may affect operations
Prepare reports on community relations activities, issues, and CSR program progress
Liaise with government agencies for permits, community-related regulations, and compliance matters
Support crisis and conflict management involving community-related issues
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Public Relations, or related field
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Community Relations/Community Development, preferably in mining, oil & gas, or plantation industries
Strong understanding of local culture, customs, and social dynamics in Aceh (Acehnese-speaking candidates are highly preferred)
Willing to be placed and stay on-site in Aceh (remote/mining area)
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and verbal)
Familiar with CSR program design, monitoring, and reporting
Able to work independently in a remote environment and adapt to field conditions
