Job summary

National Oilwell Varco in Batam, Indonesia seeks a Project Engineer with 3+ years in pressure vessel fabrication or EPC/Oil & Gas projects to oversee and coordinate fabrication activities.

You will ensure compliance with client specs, review drawings, and support planning and progress reporting while coordinating cross-functional teams to meet schedules and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in pressure vessel fabrication, EPC, or oil & gas.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and client specifications.
• Familiarity with ASME codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate Pressure Vessel fabrication projects to ensure timely and successful delivery.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, engineering requirements, quality standards, and project schedules.
• Support the Project Manager in monitoring progress, resolving technical issues, and coordinating cross-functional activities.
• Optimize project execution by managing resources, materials, and fabrication activities.
• Review specifications, client drawings, and engineering documents prior to fabrication.
• Prepare MTO, fabrication sequences, and project execution plans.
• Coordinate engineering, production, procurement, quality, and logistics throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor fabrication progress and ensure activities meet the approved schedule.
• Review IFC and shop drawings before release to production.
• Support planning by preparing weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment for fabrication activities.
• Identify and resolve project-related technical and execution issues with the Project Manager.
• Ensure deliverables meet client specs, quality, and budget targets.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance execution and efficiency.

• Good understanding of Pressure Vessel fabrication processes, engineering drawings, MTO preparation, and project execution.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, client specifications, and fabrication documentation.
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a project environment.
• Experience with ASME codes and Pressure Vessel fabrication will be an advantage.
