Job summary

Lutech Resources is seeking a Production Engineer (Coating Discipline) to apply conceptual knowledge of production and solve straightforward problems under guidance. You will review scope, prepare work packages, monitor fabrication progress, and ensure materials and installations meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in coating/metallurgical engineering or related field.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of oil & gas onshore/offshore construction industry.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards and best practices related to production processes.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope of work, schedules and specifications; understand the requirements and deliverables.
• Prepare Work Package for work execution.
• Review fabrication schedule and suggest corrections to the Planning Team.
• Ensure materials, fabrications and installations are in accordance with the specifications and drawings.
• Review weekly material reports.
• Raise problems with material delivery.
• Initiate site/technical queries to resolve fabrication/construction issues.
• Provide field guidance and ensure compliance with Project and Company specifications.
• Attend production meetings and report concerns.
• Identify changes or additional work from the original scope and initiate change orders as required.
• Review weekly fabrication progress and monitor production man-hours and productivity.
• Review look-ahead plans and identify constraints.

Job Overview:

The Production Engineer (Coating Discipline) applies their conceptual knowledge of Production and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Production problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures of the company and customers. The Production Engineer understands critical business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Review project scope of work, schedules, and specifications; understand the requirements and deliverables
• Prepare Work Package for work execution
• Review the fabrication schedule and suggest corrections to the Planning Team and understand project critical path
• Ensure materials, fabrications and installations are in accordance with the specifications and drawings
• Review weekly material reports
• Ensures and raises problems with material delivery
• Initiate site/technical queries to resolve fabrication/construction issues
• Provide field guidance as necessary and ensure compliance with Project and Company specification
• Attend production meetings and report concerns
• Identify any changes or additional work from the original scope and initiate change order as required
• Review weekly fabrication progress and monitor production man-hours and productivity
• Review two to four weeks look ahead plans and identify the constraints (material / drawings and actual construction condition)
• Liaise with Detailing and construction engineer to ensure the drawing and procedures are issued timely / all parties understand any change
• Liaise with shop/erection supervision to ensure compliance with the project plan
• Review drawings for creating fabrication sequence/constructability and identify any special items / subcontract requirements
• Provide Method Statemen for any special/specific work as required

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree S1/D4 in the field of study as follows:
  • Coating discipline: Material / Metallurgical Engineering or a typical Engineering bachelor's degree with knowledge of Painting / Coating subject may preferred
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in oil & gas and/or renewable energy fabrication and construction projects in major contractor or consulta
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Good knowledge of Oil & Gas onshore / offshore construction industry
• Good knowledge of industry code and standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities project execution
• Relevant training and/or certifications in Project Execution
• Proven experience in the EPCI industry or a similar Engineering field
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges
• Understand the strategy to delivering discipline-level fabrication efforts for complex projects, with multinational project team and customer is a plus
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders is a plus
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
