Job summary

PT Bajra Mandalasakti is seeking an Electrical Site Project Engineer to act as the technical interface between the Head Office Engineering team and client construction/commissioning teams. You will ensure alignment with AFC, translate design intent into field instructions, and coordinate with vendors for full design integration.

The role requires ongoing walk-downs, RFIs processing, and proactive support during pre-commissioning, dry commissioning, and wet commissioning phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a similar project engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of local and global electrical codes and standards (PUIL, IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
• Understanding of technical drawing principles and standards.
• Ability to interpret complex loop drawings, wiring schematics, interconnection diagrams and vendor drawings.
• Willingness to work on remote project site locations.
• Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills.
• Fluent in English both oral and written.

Job description

The Electrical Site Project Engineer serves as the primary technical interface between the Head Office Engineering team and the Clients Engineering / Construction / Commissioning teams. The role is focused onensuring the project construction conforms the approved project design drawings and documents, addressing any design gaps or issues as the arise during project execution, and maintaining red-line and as-built drawings and documentation.

Core Responsibilities

Act as the point of contact for the construction team to resolve technical discrepancies. Translate complex design intent into actionable field instructions for construction works.

Review, validate, and process Technical Queries and Requests for Information (RFIs). Coordinate with the lead discipline engineers in the main office or owners’ team for any changes affecting the "Approved for Construction" (AFC) status.

Conduct "walk-downs" of electrical and instrument systems to ensure physical installation matches the "Approved for Construction" (AFC) documentation.

Coordinate with Package Vendors to ensure complete design integration and resolve any gaps.

Provide technical support to construction teams for equipment installation, cable support system installations, cable and termination installations, cable drum management and provide technical solutions when discrepancies are identified.

Initiate and track the Management of Change process for any significant deviations from the original design scope during the construction phase.

Documentation for any deviations that required a formal Management of Change.

Provide Red-Line Markup, Review and approve Red-Line Markups submitted by construction technicians. Ensure all field changes are technically correct, meet Client requirements, and are properly captured for the "As-Built" phase.

Ensure compliance with project-specific safety standards as well as identifying potential hazards during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.

Provide technical support and assistance during pre-commissioning, dry commissioning and wet commissioning phase of the project.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of proven experience in similar project engineering role.

Strong working knowledge of local and global electrical codes and standards (PUIL, IEC, IEEE, ANSI).

Demonstrated strong understanding of technical drawing principles and standards.

Ability to interpret complex Loop Drawings, Wiring Schematics, Interconnection diagrams and vendor drawings.
