Job summary

Hop Lun Group is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the Sewing, Cutting, Packing, Technical, Mechanical and IE teams to meet quality, timeliness and cost targets in our garment plant. You will plan and schedule production, manage resources, supervise end-to-end production, ensure strict QC, and drive cost efficiency while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years in garments, and a degree in Industrial Engineering or Production

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years post-qualification garment industry experience.
• Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering or Production Management.
• Fluent English speaking and writing; local language helpful for expatriates.
• Hands-on PC skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of sewing processes and garment production documentation.

Overview:

We are a global leader in ladies intimate wear manufacturing and design, seeking a dedicated Production Manager with minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience.

The role is to provide managerial leadership to the Sewing, Cutting, and Packing, Technical, Mechanic and IE team to create a conducive working environment and make optimum use of resources to produce garments that meet the customer's quality, timeliness and quantity specifications, within the Plant's cost and performance expectations, and within all applicable country, customer and Plant policies and codes of conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Planning and Scheduling: Planning and creating detailed production schedules (weekly, monthly, yearly) to meet volume targets and delivery dates agreed upon with buyers.
• Resource Management: Ensuring the adequate availability of resources, including raw materials (fabric, thread, accessories), machinery, equipment, and workforce.
• Production Process Supervision: Overseeing all production stages, from fabric cutting and sewing to quality control (QC), finishing, and packing, to ensure processes run smoothly and meet standards.
• Quality Assurance: Establishing and monitoring strict quality control standards, collaborating with the QC department to minimize defective products, and ensuring the final product matches buyer specifications.
• Cost Control and Efficiency: Analyzing the production budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities, optimizing processes to improve productivity, and minimizing waste of materials and time.
• Team Leadership and Management: Leading, motivating, and managing the production team, which includes giving direction, evaluating performance, identifying training needs, and maintaining work discipline.
• Equipment Maintenance: Organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production machines and equipment to prevent breakdowns and avoid unscheduled production halts.
• Inter-Departmental Coordination: Serving as a liaison and coordinating effectively with other departments such as merchandising (for order details), warehousing (material availability), sales, and senior management to ensure smooth operations across the board.
• Health and Safety (H&S): Ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed in the production area to create a safe working environment for employees.
• Implementing and sustaining 5S

Key Requirements:

• Experience in the same position and related field (Garment Industry) for minimum 5 years
• Having Technical Sewing Technical skill would be preferable
• Diploma, or Degree (full time) from any Majors preferably in Industrial Engineering or Production Management (Textile & Apparel)
• English proficiency (speaking & writing), able to speak local language is a must (for expatriate)
• Hands on operation of PC using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point
• Know about tools, concepts and methodologies of sewing process in garment industry, especially underwear
• Capable of reading & understanding production documents (MO, OPN, etc.)
