Job summary

Mekari invites talented students to join the Next Level Internship as a Product Security Engineer Intern for a 3-month program. You will work with the Product Security team on vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across Mekari’s SaaS products.

You will learn to triage findings, document risk ratings, and collaborate with engineering to close vulnerabilities while exploring AI-driven testing workflows. This is an excellent chance to grow in security engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field.
• Familiarity with VAPT tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Nmap.
• Basic scripting ability (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Basic knowledge of AI agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration tests for Mekari's apps.
• Support manual and automated testing for OWASP Top 10 and related issues.
• Help triage, document findings with reproduction steps and risk ratings.
• Track remediation with engineering teams through to closure.
• Support secure code review activities and threat modeling sessions.
• Maintain and tune vulnerability testing tools and internal tooling.
• Contribute to building internal VAPT playbooks and checklists.
• Explore AI tools to enhance security testing workflows and reporting.
• Design and build automation to streamline security tasks.
