Job summary

PT TDK Electronics INDONESIA is seeking a Product Development - Design and Simulation Engineer in Batam to advance high-quality, cost-effective electronics products. You will develop and execute simulation models, perform FEA, thermal and structural analyses, and validate results with tests.

Collaborate across design, manufacturing and project teams to optimize product performance, identify design risks, and prepare detailed reports.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design or Mechanical design.
• 3 years in electronics component industry related to product design and prototype design.
• Hands-on experience in simulation software (Ansys, SolidWorks), CAD software (AUTOCAD, Pro-E).
• Strong knowledge of FEA, stress and thermal analysis, and GD&T.
• Excellent communication in English; able to work independently under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute simulation models to analyze product, process, and system performance.
• Perform engineering simulations such as Finite Element Analysis, thermal analysis, and structural analysis.
• Validate simulation results through testing, experiments, and comparison with real-world data.
• Interpret simulation data and provide recommendations for design improvements.

• Continuously improve simulation processes, models, and tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in design verification and provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams and vendors.

Product Development - Design and Simulation Engineer

Developing high quality and cost-effective products, also improving existing products for non-automotive segment

Tasks and responsibilities

Develop and execute simulation models to analyze product, process, and system performance.

Perform engineering simulations such as Finite Element Analysis, thermal analysis, and structural analysis.

Validate simulation results through testing, experiments, and comparison with real-world data.

Interpret simulation data and provide recommendations for design improvements.

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and project teams to optimize product performance and reliability.

Identify potential design risks and evaluate alternative engineering solutions.

Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation of simulation results.

Ensure simulation methodologies comply with industry standards and project requirements.

Support product development, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities.

Continuously improve simulation processes, models, and tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.

Assist in design verification and provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.

Coordinate with project managers, construction teams and vendors.

Review and optimize designs for safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and constructability.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.

Authorization

Work with Ansys Simulation Software and prepare the simulation report

Work with Pro-Engineer software or other provided CAD software

Create/modify drawing with product development approval

Work with Project Leaders and Project developers

Conditions of employment and interaction

Cooperation / adjustment with project leaders of other internal departments within BT TPS

Requirements

* EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION

Degree or Diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design or Mechanical design

* EXPERIENCES

3 years in electronics component industry related to product design, prototype design

Hands on experience in simulation software (Ansys, SolidWorks), CAD software (AUTOCAD, Pro-E)

* KNOWLEDGE

Excellent knowledge about basic FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and stress / thermal analysis

Good knowledge about 3D modeling (assembly, sheet metal and surface modeling) and 2D drawing

Good knowledge about GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Bill of Materials

Understand about tolerances and fits, material selection, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly)
