Job summary

PT Sindang Pratama Jaya in Indonesia seeks an experienced Procurement & Purchasing Specialist to lead strategic sourcing and purchasing operations for woven bag manufacturing.

You will develop annual work plans, drive cost reductions, manage PP/PE resin, masterbatch, fabrics, and packaging, and oversee supplier negotiations and contract management. This role collaborates with Production, Finance, and Quality teams to ensure timely material availability and audit compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fields.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Procurement and/or Purchasing.
• Mandatory experience in woven bag/plastic sack manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of raw materials and processes for plastic woven goods.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
• Experience in procurement planning and cost reduction programs.
• Analytical reporting and advanced Excel skills.
• ERP proficiency and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage procurement for raw materials, parts, and services for woven bag production.
• Develop and execute annual procurement work plans aligned with production targets.
• Design and implement cost reduction and efficiency plans.
• Procurement of PP resin, PE resin, additives, masterbatch, fabrics, laminating materials, inks, packaging.
• Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
• Prepare and present procurement reports (cost savings, supplier performance, budget vs actual, lead times).
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Finance, Accounting, and Quality teams.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate the procurement team.
• Ensure compliance with policies and audit requirements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Procurement & Purchasing Specialist with a strong background in woven bag / plastic sack manufacturing. This role is responsible for managing strategic procurement, purchasing operations, cost optimization, and supplier performance to support manufacturing efficiency and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and control all procurement and purchasing activities for raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and services related to woven bag manufacturing
• Develop and execute annual procurement work plans aligned with production and business targets
• Design and implement cost reduction and cost efficiency plans, including resin sourcing optimization, supplier consolidation, and negotiation strategies
• Manage procurement of key materials such as PP resin, PE resin, additives, masterbatch, woven fabric, laminating materials, inks, and packaging materials
• Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management, including local and overseas suppliers
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules without overstock or stockout risks
• Prepare and present comprehensive procurement and purchasing reports, including:
  • Cost saving and cost avoidance reports
  • Supplier performance and delivery reports
  • Procurement budget vs actual analysis
  • Purchasing lead time and efficiency reports
• Coordinate closely with Production, Warehouse, Finance, Accounting, and Quality teams
• Lead, coach, and evaluate the procurement & purchasing team
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fields
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Procurement and/or Purchasing
• Mandatory experience in a woven bag / plastic sack factory (polypropylene / polyethylene manufacturing environment)
• Strong understanding of raw materials and processes related to plastic woven bag production
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
• Preparing structured procurement work plans
• Developing and executing cost reduction programs
• Producing analytical procurement and purchasing reports
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills
• Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
• High integrity, detail-oriented, and result-driven mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling imported raw materials and international suppliers
• Familiar with KPI-based procurement performance management
• Experience supporting ISO, audit, or compliance processes
