You will lead trials, scale-up, SOP development, and data-driven RCA to reduce costs and improve throughput.
The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical/Industrial Engineering, 2–3 years in process engineering or manufacturing, and strong knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, SAP/ERP, and MS
Drive process optimization and continuous improvement in coatings manufacturing to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, process reliability, and cost effectiveness through process engineering, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Kaizen, troubleshooting, scale-up, and compliance with established standards, while ensuring Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements
Key Accountabilities:
Develop and optimize coatings manufacturing processes, including pre-kitting of raw material, mixing, dispersion, grinding, let-down, and filling. Support process trials, commissioning, scale-up, and qualification of new products and equipment
Monitor production performance, analyze process parameters, yields, cycle times, losses, and deviations, and identify improvement opportunities using production data and root cause analysis (RCA).
Conduct production trials, evaluate process and equipment performance, validate process changes, and collaborate with Production, QC, Engineering, and RDI team on equipment upgrades and process modifications
Establish standard operating procedures (SOP) practices including Work Instruction (WI), Standard Working Sheet (SWS), and One Point Lesson (OPL), optimize operating parameters, production sequences, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, quality, and resource utilization
Key Activities:
Evaluate alternative process parameters, production sequences, equipment capacities, and process scenarios to identify potential bottlenecks and optimize manufacturing performance.
Improved process planning, reduced trial-and-error activities, and better-informed technical and operational decisions.
Manage cost and time constraints.
Evaluate process costs, cycle times, material losses, energy consumption, and resource requirements. Prioritize improvement projects based on business impact and implementation feasibility.
Reduced manufacturing costs, improved cycle times, optimized resource utilization, and delivery of improvement projects within agreed timelines.
Identify and assess process, equipment, quality, and HSE risks associated with routine operations, process changes, new products, and equipment modifications. Define and follow up on appropriate mitigation actions.
Reduced operational and process risks, improved process safety, and compliance with applicable HSE and quality standards.
Provide process documentation and operating instructions.
Develop and maintain process specifications, working instructions or operating procedures, process flow diagrams, parameter standards, troubleshooting guides, and change-control documentation. Train relevant personnel on revised processes and standards.
Accurate and controlled process documentation, consistent operating practices, effective knowledge transfer, and sustained compliance with manufacturing standards.
Apply HSE principles and implement workplace improvement projects.
