Job summary
Alcon Laboratories Malaysia Sdn Bhd seeks a Principal I, Automation & Control Engineering to lead design, development and maintenance of instrument and automation control systems at our Batam, Indonesia site.
You will apply mathematical modeling and control theory to optimize performance, manage projects, and ensure GMP/GxP compliance while mentoring a technical team across engineering disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automation engineering, with at least 5 years in medical/manufacturing industries.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, and automation inspection systems.
- Proven project management experience (e.g. project/machine transfer).
- Strong command of English for internal and external communication.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical projects for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems.
- Apply mathematical modeling, analyze dynamic behavior, and use control theory for optimal performance.
- Make significant technical decisions impacting project outcomes and innovation.
- Stay current with advancements in system design, configuration, and automation.
- Ensure compliance with GxP by following SOPs and maintaining documentation.
