Job summary

ParagonCorp is seeking a Packaging Engineer to translate consumer and product needs into technical requirements for primary packaging. You will collaborate with teams and suppliers to develop formats and components, and lead development from concept through testing and handover.

The role emphasizes risk-based testing, material interactions, and close collaboration with R&D and suppliers to ensure safety, performance, and manufacturability of packaging solutions.

• Eagerness to learn about primary packaging components, materials, product-pack compatibility, safety, and manufacturability.
• Interest in developing packaging solutions that meet consumer and product needs.

Job description

• Translate consumer, product, formulation, and business needs into clear technical requirements for primary packaging.
• Explore and develop primary packaging formats and components, such as containers, closures, pumps, and applicators in collaboration with relevant teams and suppliers.
• Lead technical development from concept to finalization, including drawings, dimensions, prototypes, feasibility, compatibility, and performance testing.
• Define risk-based testing and acceptance criteria; work with PIV Material and R&D on material interactions, safety, and technical risks.
• Manage project milestones, supplier trials, technical documentation, and manufacturing handover; coordinate stakeholders as the assigned PIV project PIC.

Requirements

• Background in Packaging, Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience in packaging development.
• Eagerness to learn about primary packaging components, materials, product-pack compatibility, safety, performance, and manufacturability.
• Interest in developing packaging solutions that meet consumer and product needs, including exploring new formats and technologies.
• Analytical and structured thinking to review technical drawings, interpret test results, and learn from prototypes, trials, and product issues.
• Strong collaboration and ownership skills to work with suppliers and cross‑functional teams, communicate technical considerations, and document and share learnings.
