Job summary

ParagonCorp is seeking a Packaging Engineer in Indonesia to translate brand and consumer requirements into robust secondary packaging specs. You will drive formats such as paper-based packaging, bundles, multipacks, and flexible outer packaging, while leading structural development and validation activities.

You will coordinate trials with suppliers and internal teams, manage milestones, and ensure alignment with production handover.

Qualifications

• Background in packaging, engineering, materials, print tech, product design, or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to learn about packaging structures, materials, and printing/converting processes.
• Ability to balance consumer needs, brand appeal, product protection, and manufacturability.
• Analytical mindset to evaluate drawings, prototypes, fit, and risks through testing.

Responsibilities

• Translate consumer, brand, channel, and supply requirements into technical packaging specs.
• Explore and develop formats including paper-based packaging, bundles, multipacks, and flexible outer packaging.
• Lead structural/technical development: dimensions, materials, drawings, prototypes, fit with primary pack.
• Define risk-based validation for fit, protection, print quality, durability, and manufacturing readiness; coordinate supplier trials.
• Manage milestones, risks, supplier coordination, documentation, and production handover; coordinate stakeholders as PIC.

Job description

• Translate consumer, brand, channel, and supply requirements into technical requirements for secondary packaging.
• Explore and develop assigned formats, including paper-based packaging, bundles or multipacks, and flexible outer packaging.
• Lead structural and technical development, including dimensions, material specifications, drawings, prototypes, and fit with the primary pack.
• Define risk-based validation for areas such as fit, protection, print quality, durability, and manufacturing readiness; coordinate supplier trials and technical input from PIV Material as needed.
• Manage project milestones, risks, supplier coordination, documentation, and production handover; coordinate stakeholders as the assigned PIV project PIC.

Requirements

• Background in Packaging, Engineering, Materials, Print Technology, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Eagerness to learn about packaging structures and materials, including paper-based packaging, print and converting, bundles, and flexible outer packaging.
• Ability to develop packaging solutions that balance consumer needs, brand appeal, product protection, functionality, and manufacturability.
• Analytical and practical thinking to review drawings and prototypes, evaluate fit and performance, and identify potential risks through testing and supplier trials.
• Strong collaboration and ownership skills to work with Brand, Creative, suppliers, and production teams, communicate technical trade-offs, and continuously build packaging and sustainability knowledge.
