Spruson & Ferguson is seeking a Patent Attorney to help protect innovations in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, and related fields. You will support filing, searches, translations, and prosecution of patent applications in Indonesia and internationally.

The role emphasizes strong technical writing in Indonesian and English, with potential exposure to global IP matters within a leading Asia-Pacific IP firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences or related fields.
• Ideally 1–3 years of patent-related experience and peer-reviewed publication history.
• Strong technical writing skills in Indonesian and English.

Responsibilities

• Handle patent work across prosecution, from filing to responses to office actions.
• Support patent filing, searches, translations, and international prosecutions.
• Assist in drafting and managing patent applications in Indonesia and abroad.

About the Role

As a Patent Attorney, you are passionate about protecting innovations, and will handle patent work including filing, searches, translations, and more. In this role, you will:

• Support the team in protecting innovations in the Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, and/or related fields.
• Handle patent work across the patent prosecution process.
• Support patent filing, searches, translations, responses to office actions, and prosecution of patent applications in Indonesia and abroad.

What You Bring

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, and/or related fields.
• Ideally 1-3 years of experience in patents, and writing peer-reviewed papers in conferences/journals.
• Prior patent experience in drafting, prior art search, handling office actions, or related areas would be a strong advantage
• Strong technical writing skills in both Indonesian and English, with clear and logical writing capabilities.
• Bonus - Registered Intellectual Property Consultant in Indonesia.
