Job summary

Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) is seeking a skilled Patent Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group in Jakarta. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and hands-on experience in patent prosecution matters, drafting patent specifications, and related filings.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in patent prosecution or paralegal work, with strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of patent prosecution or paralegal experience.
• Experience drafting patent specifications and related documents.
• Understanding of Indonesian filing procedures; familiarity with international filings is a plus.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Assist lawyers in the preparation, drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.
• Prepare and review patent-related documents, forms, correspondence, and supporting materials for filing with the relevant authorities.
• Maintain and update patent docketing systems and monitor deadlines on all patent prosecution matters.
• Track the progress and status of patent applications and registrations.
• Assist with patent searches, information gathering, and administrative support related to patent prosecution.

The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and practical experience in patent prosecution matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist lawyers in the preparation, drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.
• Prepare and review patent-related documents, forms, correspondence, and supporting materials for filing with the relevant authorities.
• Maintain and update patent docketing systems and monitor deadlines on all patent prosecution matters.
• Track the progress and status of patent applications and registrations.
• Assist with patent searches, information gathering, and administrative support related to patent prosecution.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution, patent administration, or patent paralegal work, preferably in a law firm, IP consultancy, or corporate IP department.
• Experience in drafting patent specifications and patent-related documents.
• Good understanding of patent filing and prosecution procedures in Indonesia; familiarity with international patent filing procedures is an advantage.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with patent docketing systems and intellectual property databases.
• Exposure to diverse industries through patent drafting and prosecution work.
