Job summary

Grab is seeking an Operations Analytics Lead in Jakarta to steer data-driven decisions across merchant strategy and control tower operations. You will translate complex challenges into analytical models, dashboards, and actionable insights, owning end-to-end analytics for acquisition, incubation, and segmentation.

You will mentor teammates, build scalable dashboards, and ensure data integrity while collaborating with engineering and data-platform teams in an onsite role based in Jakarta.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in BI, data analytics, operations analytics, or strategy consulting in high-growth tech/e‑commerce.
• Advanced SQL skills: joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning.
• Python for data manipulation and automation (Pandas, NumPy).
• Experience building executive dashboards in modern BI tools.
• Excellent Bahasa Indonesia and English verbal/written skills.

Merchant Operations is a team responsible for analyzing merchant growth and trends. We make critical decisions to serve the lives of merchant-partners and providing best offers for our consumers.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for an Operations Analytics Lead to spearhead data-driven decision-making across our merchant strategy and control tower operations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and technical execution—autonomously translating complex operational challenges into analytical models, automated dashboards, and actionable business insights.

You will own end-to-end analytics initiatives spanning merchant acquisition, incubation, and segmentation frameworks verticals. This is an Onsite role based in Jakarta

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Translate Business Goals to Analytical Roadmaps: Autonomously identify operational bottlenecks and translate strategic merchant priorities into concrete analytical frameworks and end-to-end project deliverables.
• Design & Own Core Strategic Analytics: Drive foundational initiatives, including the annual review and revamp of Merchant Segmentation frameworks, metric thresholds, and acquisition funnel tracking (identifying merchant white spaces across GrabFood and GrabMart).
• Deliver Actionable Business Insights: Go beyond reporting data to uncover root causes and commercial trends (e.g., GMV variations, merchant density, conversion rates) and provide structured, executive-ready recommendations to leadership.
• Build & Automate Scalable Dashboards: Conceptualize, build, and maintain robust reporting pipelines and interactive dashboards from scratch to monitor cross-channel operations.
• Maintain Data Integrity & Queries: Write clean, efficient SQL queries, manage automated data transformation scripts in Python, and collaborate with engineering/data platform teams on database hygiene and lineage.
• Collaborative Mentorship: Act as an informal technical lead and mentor to junior analytics team members—guiding best practices in SQL/Python scripting, query optimization, and analytical problem-solving.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Operations Analytics, or Strategy Consulting within high-growth tech, e-commerce, or on-demand platforms.
• Technical Mastery:
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query performance optimization).
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python for data manipulation, cleaning, and automated analysis (Pandas, NumPy).
  • Proven track record building executive-facing dashboards in modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Superset).
• Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous business problems and translate them into structured quantitative insights with clear commercial "so-what" takeaways.
• Proven to lead analytical projects end-to-endwhile aligning cross-functional operational stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
