Job summary

Packsize in Joliet, IL seeks a Resident Service Engineer to install, configure and maintain Packsize equipment at customer sites. You will start up machines, train customers on features and maintenance, and build a trusted relationship with assigned accounts.

You’ll troubleshoot with drawings, work cross-functionally with R&D, Software and Quality teams, schedule tasks, and perform preventive and emergency service.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset and client-facing skills.
• Working knowledge of Windows platforms and basic software.
• Proficient with hand tools and basic mechanical systems.
• Solid understanding of mechanical platforms and equipment operation.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is a plus but not required.
• Associates Degree or vocational training or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule tasks at customer sites and coordinate on-site activities.
• Troubleshoot issues using technical drawings and documentation.
• Collaborate with R&D, Software and Quality Engineering teams.
• Perform routine maintenance and emergency service on equipment.
• Analyze customer KPIs to identify machine performance issues.
• Pursue continuous learning about customer processes and packaging designs.
• Install Packsize solutions and train others to use and maintain them.
• Handle administrative tasks: emails, expense reports, travel, and detailed reports.
• Communicate clearly with Packsize and customer personnel.
