Job summary

Samudera Indonesia is seeking MUJS Marketing & Operation Department Head to lead marketing strategy, drive market analysis, and align operational plans with business goals in Ambon. You will coordinate with port operators, shipping agents, and internal teams to deliver superior service and growth.

Ideal candidate has a business-related degree, 3–5 years in sales/marketing within logistics, fluent English, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, naval architecture, marine engineering, maritime transportation, shipping management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in sales and marketing within port operations, shipping, or logistics.
• Strong understanding of multimodal transportation and terminal operations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Willing to work from office in Ambon.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing plan on market analysis & operational strategies to improve service efficiency, productivity, and overall business performance
• Establish and maintain strong and strategic relationships with customers
• Responsible for developing team members through various means, such as mentoring, coaching, counselling, etc
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to refine marketing strategies.
• Coordinate with internal teams, port operators, shipping agents, vendors, and other operational stakeholders to support business and customer requirements.
• Identify operational challenges and develop effective solutions to improve processes, reduce operational risks, and support business growth.

General Responsibilities

• Ensure the implementation of an Integrated Management System, including the identification, documentation, and control of risks in the relevant department's work area.
• Foster and ensure the commitment of every team member to understand and adhere to all applicable Integrated Management System requirements.
• Be willing to participate in the investigation process of accidents, incidents, or actions that may lead to incidents caused by unsafe actions or unsafe conditions, including providing accurate information and reports based on known facts.
• Be willing to engage in the information security control process applied to protect the information assets and information processing assets owned and/or managed by the Company from threats to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Business, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Maritime Transportation, Shipping Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in Sales & Marketing, preferably in port operations, stevedoring, shipping or logistics.
• Strongly understand multimodal transportation (sea, air, land), port services and stevedoring, terminal operations, and cargo handling processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage client and internal stakeholder effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and commercial acumen.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Willing to work from office based in Ambon.
