Job summary

The Automation Technician role at Sandvik Mining and Construction de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. is based in Freeport (Highland), Tembagapura, Papua, Indonesia. You will install, maintain, and optimize automated control systems, PLCs and instrumentation to ensure safe and reliable operations.

You will work closely with operations and maintenance teams, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, document activities, and mentor junior staff while adhering to SHEQ guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in automation.
• High School Diploma or D3 IT or related field.
• Auto Electric and IT software certifications.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Repairing and replacing parts, following instructions, and automating technical equipment.
• Interpreting basic automation designs and maintenance manuals, assembling and disassembling to make necessary adjustments and alignments.
• Carrying out maintenance tasks independently and checking the results, and monitoring equipment on the panel for issues.
• Reporting and documenting work done according to procedures and work instructions.
• Basic communication with customers and explaining operational procedures.
