• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as a Mine Plan Engineer or in a similar mining role.
• Proficiency in mine planning software (Surpac, Minescape) and CAD/GIS.
• Knowledge of open-pit mining operations, haul road design, drilling and blasting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills for optimization of plans, costs, and productivity.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work on-site in Kolaka and adapt to field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update short-term and long-term mine plans, including pit designs, production schedules, and haulage routes.
• Collaborate with geologists, operations teams, and maintenance personnel to ensure that mine plans are practical, safe, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Analyze geological and survey data to produce accurate pit designs and reserve estimates, and monitor actual production against plans.
• Prepare technical reports and maps to support planning decisions and regulatory reporting.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in mining methods, cost efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Role Description

The Mine Plan Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolaka. This role involves developing and updating short-term and long-term mine plans, including pit designs, production schedules, and haulage routes. The Mine Plan Engineer collaborates with geologists, operations teams, and maintenance personnel to ensure that mine plans are practical, safe, and aligned with production targets and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include analyzing geological and survey data, optimizing equipment allocation, monitoring actual production against plans, and preparing technical reports and maps. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives in mining methods, cost efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in mine planning and design software (such as Surpac, Minescape, or similar) and strong skills in CAD and GIS tools.
• Ability to analyze geological, geotechnical, and survey data to produce accurate pit designs, production schedules, and reserve estimates.
• Knowledge of open-pit mining operations, haul road design, drilling and blasting, and equipment utilization.
• Understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and compliance requirements in mining operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills for optimization of plans, costs, and productivity.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline; professional certification in mining or engineering is an advantage.
• Experience as a Mine Plan Engineer or in a similar mining engineering role, preferably in open-pit operations.
• Willingness to work on-site in Kolaka and adapt to field conditions and operational schedules.
