• Experience in trainings with refugee/marginalized communities is a must.
• Familiar with psychological support programs for non-specialists and ART/HEART concepts.
• Experience in documentation and report writing.

• Contribute to MEAL plan follow-up and timely documentation of indicators.
• Develop emergency response and MHPSS intervention plans for crises affecting children.

TITLE: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Program Operation Egypt Country Office

GRADE: 5

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months

Contingent upon confirmation of funding and project duration

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator provides technical support to a group of

psychosocial support volunteers as well as others, if applicable, in Alexandria, ensuring high-quality implementation of activities. The role includes planning with the team, participating in assessments, providing guidance, delivering training, and conducting regular field monitoring of activities. The coordinator is also responsible for all administrative tasks related to the team.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

ProgramImplementation

• Plan the implementation of psychosocial support activities in the Palestinian educational initiative in Alexandria, according to a clear timeline and high-quality standards.
• Provide ongoing technical and supervisory support to teachers and volunteers (of Palestinian, Egyptian, and other nationalities if present) to ensure the quality of psychosocial sessions in alignment with established principles and practices.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure activities are implemented in a context-appropriate and child-centered manner.
• Coordinate with the managers of the educational initiative to organize and facilitate psychosocial support activities.

• Support the implementation of MHPSS activities related to child and teacher mental health and psychosocial well-being.
• Ensure the integration of MHPSS activities with other educational or life skills components based on the
• Oversee all administrative responsibilities related to the MHPSS team, including work schedules, weekly follow-up, session documentation, and coordination with relevant offices.

• Contribute to the development of emergency response and MHPSS intervention plans for sudden crises affecting children or beneficiaries.

Reporting and Documentation

• Compile monthly reports reflecting the progress in the MHPSS activities implementation, assist the team in highlighting success stories and documenting challenges encountered during the implementation of activities.
• Follow up on monthly narrative and financial reports from partner.
• Work with project participants and team members to monitor, document, and share information, including success stories and lessons
• Contribute to the development and updating of the project database and monitoring system, and ensure activities are carried out in alignment with agreed indicators on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Experience in conducting trainings working with refugee/marginalized communities is a must.
• Familiar with psychological support programs for non-specialists such as peer support programs, HEART, and Resilience... Etc.
• Experience in one or more types of art in facilitating activities and has the skill of training facilitators on how to use the arts to facilitate MHPSS activities for beneficiaries.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in administrative work.
• Ability to create networks and positive collaborations with different stakeholders to benefit the beneficiaries.
• Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and a strong working knowledge of English is required.
