Job summary

PT Masmindo Dwi Area seeks a senior Metallurgy Leader to oversee all metallurgical and gold refinery activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. You will provide technical leadership across processing circuits and champion continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Metallurgical/related engineering and at least 10 years in gold processing with 5 years in leadership within a large plant.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in gold processing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a large-scale processing plant environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of crushing, grinding, gravity concentration, CIL, elution, electrowinning, gold refining, cyanide management, and metallurgical accounting principles.
  • Proven experience in plant commissioning, process optimization, and operational readiness programs.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems, statistical analysis, and metallurgical data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational risks, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesian mining regulations, environmental standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Metallurgy and Gold Refinery team to ensure the achievement of production targets, metallurgical recovery, safety performance, and operational excellence.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of all processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, gravity concentration, CIL, elution, electrowinning, reagent management, and gold refining activities.
  • Develop, implement, review, and continuously improve metallurgical operating procedures, work instructions, and technical standards.
  • Analyze metallurgical data, identify process bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maximize plant throughput, recovery, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead metallurgical test work, process improvement initiatives, and plant optimization programs to improve overall plant performance.
  • Manage metallurgical risks by conducting hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate closely with the Mining, Maintenance, Process Operations, Laboratory, Supply Chain, and Environmental departments to support overall business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and capability development programs for metallurgists, operators, and other technical personnel.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal audits, external inspections, and technical reviews related to metallurgical operations.

Job description

This position is responsible for leading and overseeing all metallurgical and gold refinery activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while maximizing plant performance and gold recovery. The role provides technical leadership across all processing circuits and ensures compliance with company standards, environmental regulations, and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Metallurgy and Gold Refinery team to ensure the achievement of production targets, metallurgical recovery, safety performance, and operational excellence.

Monitor and optimize the performance of all processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, gravity concentration, carbon-in-leach (CIL), elution, electrowinning, reagent management, and gold refining activities.

Develop, implement, review, and continuously improve metallurgical operating procedures, work instructions, and technical standards.

Analyze metallurgical data, identify process bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maximize plant throughput, recovery, and operational efficiency.
