Job summary

Bitera DC is seeking a lead mechanical engineer to drive data center construction and expansion projects, focusing on HVAC, chilled water, piping, fire protection, and other mechanical infrastructure.

You will review designs, coordinate with stakeholders from consultants to vendors, oversee testing and commissioning, and ensure on-time delivery with safety and quality as priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for data center construction and expansion projects, including HVAC, chilled water, piping, fire protection, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Review mechanical designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Monitor construction quality, resolve mechanical technical issues, and ensure project delivery meets schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
• Witness and validate testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all mechanical systems perform as designed before handover.
• Serve as the SME for all mechanical systems after project completion, providing technical guidance and support to Facility Operations.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical documentation, SOPs, and best practices to support long-term reliability and maintainability.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, energy efficiency, operational resilience, and lifecycle cost of mechanical infrastructure.
