Job summary

Electrum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and improve mechanical systems across our electric two-wheeler ecosystem. You will turn rider needs and field insights into safe, durable engineering solutions, focusing on reliability, maintainability and reduced downtime.

You will work across design, prototyping, testing and implementation, collaborating with design, electrical, battery, product, quality, supply chain and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions and ensure production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on mechanical design, development and testing experience.
• Proficient in CAD and engineering drawings (GD&T, tolerances).
• Ability to derive design improvements from testing data and field feedback.
• Experience with prototypes, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Willing to work with mechanics and field staff to understand real product use.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve mechanical components for electric two-wheelers.
• Translate rider and field feedback into engineering requirements.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs and specs.
• Evaluate materials, tolerances and structural strength via calculations.
• Build and validate prototypes through testing and field trials.
• Investigate failures and implement corrective actions.
• Improve serviceability for quicker maintenance and uptime.
• Collaborate with electrical, battery, quality, supply chain and ops.
• Coordinate with suppliers on fabrication methods and quality.
