Job summary

amIT Global Solutions Sdn Bhd seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a site-based role in West Sumbawa, Indonesia. You will develop CAD drawings, assess mechanical systems, and support maintenance planning for heavy equipment and lifting devices.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and strong knowledge of design principles, reliability, and safety standards. Fluency in English is preferred, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Trade certificate/technical diploma accepted with higher years of experience in mechanical engineering or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical drawings and engineering designs using AutoCAD for heavy equipment maintenance and upgrades.
• Design and evaluate mechanical structures and lifting devices, ensuring safety and standards compliance.
• Perform engineering calculations for stability, load capacity, CoG, gradeability, braking, and safety factors.
• Create hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams for system modifications.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor maintenance to support equipment reliability and operational continuity.
• Support preventive maintenance and condition monitoring with timely follow-ups on findings and actions.
• Prepare maintenance schedules, work packages, and technical documentation for major activities.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain and other stakeholders to ensure availability of resources.
• Review equipment specs and provide recommendations for purchases and modifications.
• Maintain engineering records and ensure compliance with company standards and safety practices.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

(National – Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

• Develop technical drawings and engineering designs using AutoCAD to support heavy equipment maintenance, modification, and operational improvement projects.
• Design and evaluate mechanical structures and support equipment, including jack stands, towing bars, brackets, and lifting devices, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical assessments related to equipment stability, load capacity, center of gravity (CoG), gradeability, braking performance, and safety factors.
• Develop engineering solutions for modifications to mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor maintenance activities to support equipment reliability, resource readiness, and operational continuity.
• Support preventive maintenance and condition monitoring programs, ensuring timely follow-up of inspection findings and corrective actions.
• Prepare maintenance schedules, job plans, technical documentation, work packages, reports, and resource plans for major maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to ensure equipment, materials, and resources are available to support planned work.
• Review equipment specifications and provide technical recommendations to support equipment purchases, modifications, and operational improvements.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, maintenance history, and technical documentation within applicable systems.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all engineering and maintenance activities comply with company standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

What skills and experience do you need

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or Trade Certificate/Technical Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance planning, or heavy equipment engineering.
• Experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance planning, reliability, or heavy equipment maintenance (Mobile Equipment & Crane) within mining, mineral processing, construction, or industrial operations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drawing development for heavy equipment, maintenance tooling, fabrication, and engineering modifications.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering calculations, structural integrity, load capacity analysis, and equipment stability assessments.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, maintenance planning, and asset reliability practices.
• Experience designing or reviewing equipment modifications, hydraulic systems, electrical interfaces, towing systems, lifting devices, or maintenance support equipment.
• Ability to develop hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical engineering solutions for operational challenges; Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Supply Chain functions; Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management systems.
• Fluent in written and spoken English is preferred.

Working Location : Site Based - West Sumbawa

Working Schedule : Regular working days 5:2 (Monday-Friday)
