Job summary

PT Dover Chemical in Merak, Banten, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical and piping projects, ideally in chemical plants. You will design mechanical systems, specify equipment, perform analyses, and review vendor documents to support procurement and commissioning.

You will ensure all designs meet safety and international codes, maintain engineering documents, and collaborate with the Lead Mechanical Engineer across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical and piping engineering projects.
• Experience in chemical plant operations is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering design and project management.
• Proficient in piping and mechanical engineering design software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project).
• CFD knowledge is an advantage.
• Good command of English is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and communicate well.
• Willing to be based in Merak, Banten.
• Available for full-time employment.

• Manage revisions based on reviews and client feedback.

Job description

Develop and prepare mechanical system designs, including equipment selection, engineering calculations, and technical documentation such as datasheets, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and equipment layouts.

Prepare technical specifications for both static equipment (vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, etc.) and rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, etc.).

Perform strength, efficiency, and performance analyses to ensure compliance with process requirements and applicable engineering standards.

Review and evaluate vendor technical documents and provide technical support during the procurement process.

Support the Lead Mechanical Engineer in managing mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from engineering design to commissioning.

Ensure all mechanical designs comply with safety, environmental, and applicable international standards, including ASME, API, ANSI, ISO, GB, and other relevant codes.

Prepare engineering documents such as Material Take-Off (MTO), technical study reports, and vendor evaluation reports.

Manage revisions of engineering documents based on internal reviews, client feedback, and third-party comments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Mechanical, and Piping Engineering projects.
• Experience in chemical plant operations and engineering is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering design and project management.
• Proficient in piping and mechanical engineering design software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project).
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) knowledge is an advantage.
• Good command of English is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Dynamic, proactive, and possess good communication skills.
• Willing to be based in Merak, Banten.
• Available for full-time employment.
