Job summary

wirehire is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with deep expertise in shipping, maritime, and mining logistics to oversee day-to-day vessel and logistics operations. You will drive safe, compliant, and cost-effective marine transportation for coal and mining logistics, coordinating with ports, crews, and customers.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and ability to optimize fleet utilization while controlling costs and ensuring timely delivery across all stages of marine

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies or related field.
• 7–10 years in shipping, marine operations, mining logistics.
• At least 3 years in a managerial/ supervisory role.
• Strong vessel operations and fleet management experience.
• Experience with tug & barge, coal transportation preferred.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily marine and vessel operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable execution.
• Develop and monitor vessel operating schedules, voyage plans, loading/unloading activities, and port calls.
• Coordinate with Masters, vessel crews, agents, ports, terminals, and customers to ensure timely deployment and cargo movements.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements in safety and efficiency.
• Lead and develop the shipping operations team across shore-based and vessel personnel.
• Monitor KPIs and compile regular operational reports for senior management.
