Job summary

Schneider Electric is offering a structured 1-year internship on our manufacturing floor in Batam. You will work under experienced engineers to develop core manufacturing engineering skills, support continuous improvement, and participate in SOP creation and documentation updates.

You will learn to analyze production flows, assist Kaizen events, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve line efficiency and equipment reliability in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a diploma or bachelor’s degree program in a related engineering field.
  • Available to commit to a full 1-year internship placement.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and engineering fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other basic MS Office applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing production workflows to improve line efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support Kaizen events, layout optimization projects, and cycle-time balancing initiatives.
  • Help create, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support equipment reliability and preventive maintenance.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects and manufacturing excellence initiatives.

Role Objective:
  • Participate in a structured 1-year internship program that bridges academic learning with hands‑on shop floor experience.
  • Develop professional competencies and foundational manufacturing engineering skills.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced engineers to support continuous improvement initiatives.
