Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mandarin language, education or related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 2-3 years' teaching experience at secondary level, preferably in a language education setting.
• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin with excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Mandarin language lessons to secondary-level students, utilising varied teaching methodologies and resources
• Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and proficiency levels
• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support learning development
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence in language use
• Incorporate cultural elements and contemporary teaching materials to make Mandarin learning relevant and motivating for students
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades and progress reports
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and development
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching standards and contribute to the centre's educational objectives
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with pedagogical approaches

What we're looking for
