About the role

First Class Education Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our secondary education team. This is a part-time position based in the Medan Area, North Sumatra. As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing students' language skills, fostering a love of English, and preparing them for academic success. This position offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst making a meaningful impact on secondary-level learners in our community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the curriculum, including reading, writing, speaking and listening skills
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and academic growth
• Prepare lesson materials, resources and assessments that meet the needs of diverse learners
• Support students in developing critical thinking and communication skills through interactive activities and projects
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades and academic performance
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching standards and educational outcomes
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development of the English department

What we're looking for

• A recognised teaching qualification or Bachelor’s degree in English, Education or a related field
• Proven experience teaching English at secondary level
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively
• Knowledge of current teaching methodologies and best practices in English language education
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
