About the role
Taman Rama School, under the Taman Mahatma Gandhi Foundation, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Guru Mandarin (Part Time) to join our secondary teaching team. This is a part-time position based in Denpasar, Bali, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' language development and cultural understanding. As a Mandarin language educator, you will play a vital role in fostering linguistic excellence and cultural appreciation amongst our secondary students, contributing to our commitment to providing comprehensive and high-quality education.

Key responsibilities

Delivering engaging and interactive Mandarin language lessons to secondary students across various proficiency levels

Developing and implementing comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and educational standards

Assessing student progress through regular evaluations, quizzes, and examinations, providing constructive feedback

Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and cultural exchange

Utilising a variety of teaching methodologies and resources to enhance language acquisition and retention

Collaborating with colleagues to integrate Mandarin language learning with other subject areas where appropriate

Preparing students for language proficiency assessments and examinations as required

Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements

Participating in school events and activities that promote Mandarin language and Chinese culture

What we're looking for

Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese with excellent command of spoken and written language

Formal teaching qualification or certification in Mandarin language instruction

Proven experience teaching Mandarin at secondary level in an international or multicultural school setting

Strong understanding of contemporary teaching methodologies and language acquisition principles

Ability to develop engaging curricula and create dynamic classroom environments

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students

Proficiency in English to facilitate communication with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds

Familiarity with digital learning tools and technology-enhanced language instruction
