Job summary

Seven Retail Group in Jakarta is seeking a Mandarin Curriculum Designer (Staff) to lead the development of a comprehensive Mandarin curriculum for children, aligned with YCT and HSK. You will craft lesson plans, teacher guides, worksheets, activities, and learning materials, and work with teachers to pilot and refine content.

You should have a bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Education or related field, strong Mandarin proficiency (HSK 5+ preferred), and 1–3 years of relevant experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Education, or related field.
• Strong spoken and written Mandarin; minimum HSK Level 5 or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of Mandarin teaching, curriculum development, instructional design, or related roles; children experience preferred.
• Familiar with Mandarin development frameworks such as YCT/HSK.
• Creative and able to develop engaging, interactive learning materials.
• Strong communication, research, project management, and collaboration skills; proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine a comprehensive Mandarin curriculum for children, with objectives and scope.
• Create age- and level-appropriate lesson plans, guides, worksheets, and activities.
• Design interactive activities to develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and tones.
• Develop placement tests, rubrics, and tools to measure outcomes across ages and levels.
• Collaborate with teachers to pilot lessons and ensure materials are implemented.

Your Day-to-Day

• Develop and refine a comprehensive Mandarin curriculum for children, including learning objectives, level structure, scope and sequence, and learning outcomes, aligned with frameworks such as YCT and HSK.
• Create age- and level-appropriate lesson plans, teacher guides, worksheets, activities, games, projects, and other supporting learning materials.
• Design interactive learning activities that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation, and tonal accuracy.
• Develop placement tests, assessments, rubrics, and other tools to measure learning outcomes, while adapting curriculum to different age groups, proficiency levels, class sizes, and learning needs.
• Conduct research and benchmarking on Mandarin education trends, teaching methodologies, curriculum standards, and competitor programs to continuously improve the curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers to pilot and refine lessons, provide curriculum training and academic guidance, observe classroom delivery, and ensure curriculum materials are effectively implemented and consistently maintained

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Strong spoken and written Mandarin proficiency; minimum HSK Level 5 or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in Mandarin teaching, curriculum development, instructional design, or related roles; experience with children preferred.
• Familiar with Mandarin language development and learning frameworks such as YCT or HSK.
• Creative and able to develop engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate learning materials.
• Strong communication, research, project management, and collaboration skills; proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. English and digital learning/design skills are a plus.
