Batik Benang Raja is seeking a Lead Corporate Legal to provide strategic legal guidance to the Board and management. The role oversees governance, contracts, licensing, and risk management, while leading civil and commercial litigation and settlements.

The position involves coordinating external counsel, managing regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic transactions such as investments and joint ventures.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with experience in corporate governance and contract law.
• Proven track record in litigation and dispute resolution.
• Strong advisory skills to Board and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to the Board of Directors and Management on business operations, investments, transactions, and corporate decisions.
• Oversee corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, contracts, compliance, licensing, and legal risk management.
• Provide legal support for property and township development, including land matters, permits, and development partnerships.
• Lead litigation and dispute resolution, including civil, land, contractual, and commercial disputes.
• Develop litigation strategies and coordinate legal proceedings and out-of-court settlements.
• Manage external lawyers, legal consultants, notaries, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Support strategic transactions, including investments, acquisitions, divestments, restructuring, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal opinions on contracts and legal documents.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks affecting business operations and development.
• Understand and have knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS/K3) regulations and legal requirements, ensuring the company's compliance with applicable laws and regulations
