Studio Mula is seeking a curious, committed designer to build thoughtful spaces and grow within a principal-led design studio. The role focuses on translating behavior and narrative into space and detail, with close guidance from the principals as responsibilities grow.

Qualifications

• Background in interior design or architecture.
• Working proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop.
• Working proficiency in SketchUp and V-Ray is mandatory.
• Ability to adopt AI and relevant tools for research, iteration, visualization and a more effective design process.
• Curious, hungry for knowledge, and open to detailed feedback and refinement.
• Good design sensitivity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support research, concepts, space planning, mood boards, 3D models, renders and technical drawings.
• Develop and refine proposals with the principals and team, carrying the design intention through to the details.

CHARACTER COMES FIRST

We value curiosity, accountability and the willingness to improve. Strong character matters more than a polished portfolio alone. Our essential software requirements remain mandatory.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

This role is for a designer who wants to strengthen their design thinking and technical execution through close guidance from the principals, with increasing responsibility as their capabilities grow.

• Exactly 2-5 years of relevant professional experience. Applications outside this range, including more than 5 years, will not be considered.
• Full-time attendance at our Tebet, South Jakarta office is required. This opening is not available for part-time, freelance or remote arrangements.

TECHNICAL FOUNDATION - REQUIRED

• Background in interior design or architecture.
• Working proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop.
• Working proficiency in BOTH SketchUp and V-Ray is mandatory. Other modelling or rendering software does not replace this requirement.
• Ability and initiative to adopt AI and relevant tools for research, iteration, visualization and a more effective design process, while applying your own judgment.
• Curious and hungry for knowledge.
• Determined when an idea does not work yet, and willing to explore beyond the first obvious answer.
• Open to detailed feedback and repeated refinement.
• Good design sensitivity and careful attention to detail.
• Responsible for creative thinking, execution and following through.
• Comfortable collaborating, communicating hurdles early and working toward deadlines.
• Excited to learn and grow within a principal-led studio.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

Support research, concepts, space planning, mood boards, 3D models, renders and technical drawings. Develop and refine proposals with the principals and team, carrying the design intention through to the details.

COMPENSATION

Rp6,000,000-Rp8,000,000 gross per month, based on demonstrated capability and role fit.

Sales-linked bonuses are additional, subject to the studio’s incentive scheme; eligibility and calculation will be explained during the hiring process.
