Job summary

PT Baramutiara Prima, a coal mining company, seeks a Junior Geologist for placement at Sungai Lilin, South Sumatra. You will assist in geological operations, pit monitoring, drilling, and geological modeling to support mine development.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Geological Engineering and at least 1 year in mining. Strong analytical and communication skills, with familiarity in MineScape and MS Office, are preferred. On-site collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Geological Engineering is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a mining company.
• Strong understanding of mining operations and processes.

Responsibilities

• Geological Structure Monitoring of pits and related structures.
• Pre-production drilling and geological modeling.
• Stockpile quality supervision and blending formulation guidance.
• Quality sampling control at pit, ROM and port stockpile.
• Coordinate with Coal Hauling and Marketing teams for product quality.

Junior Geologist

Placement in Sungai Lilin, South Sumatra Mining SIte

About The Role:

Responsible for supporting geological operations and mine technical development in MTD Department through precise pit monitoring, pre-production drilling, geological modeling, stockpile quality control, and blending formulation to support marketing requirements and headcount expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Geological Structure Monitoring: Monitor Pit related to geological structure (fold, fault, syncline, anticline), coal exposed, and geotechnical condition (crack, wall failure of high wall, low wall, side wall, sump).
• Pre-Production Drilling: Conduct Pre-Production Drilling (Infill Drilling).
• Geological Modeling: Create Geological Model (Coal Modelling) using MineScape software.
• Stockpile & Pit Quality Supervision: Supervise and monitor ROM Stock, Port Stockpile & Pit related to quality (self combustion, dilution, contamination).
• Quality Sampling Control: Supervise quality sampling at pit, ROM & Port Stockpile (Channel sampling,
• Grab sampling, temperature measuring).
• Coal Hauling Control: Control Coal Hauling product (High Sulfur or Low Sulfur) in coordination with Coal Hauling Department Team.
• Quality Blending Formulation: Create quality blending formula and inform Port Department Team to implement it following Marketing needs.

Requirements:

• Education Background : Min Bachelor degree in Geological Engineering
• Experience Level : At least 1 Year experience in Mining Company (Mining Industry)
• Operational Knowledge : Well understood mining activities and understanding good mining process
• GMP Standards: Well understood & able to implement GMP, dare to lead improvement process
• Software Proficiency : Proficient in MineScape (basic) and Microsoft Office
• Computer Literacy : Well-developed computer literacy skills and the ability to efficiently analyze numerical and graphical data
• Analytical Capability : Analytical thinking which enables to analyze data
• Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, expected to liaise and maintain healthy relationships with related parties
• Licences : Possess valid driving license “A” (SIM A)
