Job summary

PT Baramutiara Prima (BMP) seeks a Junior Geologist to support geological operations and mine development in Musi Banyuasin. The role covers pit monitoring, pre-production drilling, geological modeling, stockpile quality control, and blending aligned with marketing requirements.

Responsibilities include monitoring pits for geological structures, supervising stock and quality sampling, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards. Travel and placement in Musi Banyuasin are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a mining company.
• Understanding of mining activities and good mining processes.
• Familiarity with GMP standards and compliant practices.
• Proficiency with MineScape (basic) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong numerical and graphical data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pit conditions and geological structures (folds, faults, synclines, anticlines).
• Supervise ROM stock, port stockpile, and pit quality (self combustion, dilution, contamination).
• Oversee quality sampling at pit, ROM, and stockpile (channel/grab sampling, temperature).
• Coordinate coal hauling activities (high sulfur vs low sulfur) with Coal Hauling Department.
• Develop quality blending formulas and inform Port Department to implement per marketing needs.

Job description

Jr. Geologist responsible for supporting geological operations and mine technical development in MTD Department through precise pit monitoring, pre-production drilling, geological modeling, stockpile quality control, and blending formulation to support marketing requirements and headcount expansion.

Key responsibilities

Monitor Pit related to geological structure (fold, fault, syncline, anticline), coal exposed, and geotechnical condition (crack, wall failure of high wall, low wall, side wall, sump)

Supervise and monitor ROM Stock, Port Stockpile & Pit related to quality (self combustion, dilution, contamination)

Supervise quality sampling at pit, ROM & Port Stockpile (Channel sampling, Grab sampling, temperature measuring)

Control Coal Hauling product (High Sulfur or Low Sulfur) in coordination with Coal Hauling Department Team

Create quality blending formula and inform Port Department Team to implement it following Marketing needs

Qualification :

Minimum Bachelor degree in Geological Engineering

At least 1 Year experience in Mining Company (Mining Industry)

Well understood mining activities and understanding good mining process

Well understood & able to implementate GMP standards

Proficient in MineScape (basic) and Microsoft Office

Well-developed computer literacy skills and the ability to efficiently analyze numerical and graphical data

Analytical thinking which enables to analyze data

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, expected to liaise and maintain healthy relationships with related parties

Possess valid driving license A (SIM A)

The mining area can be accessed by road from Palembang via the Sumatra eastern highway (around 130 km) or through the river from the Bangka Strait through the Dawas-Calik river (about 120 km)
