Job summary

Steradian Data Optima is hiring a QA Engineer to develop and execute testing strategies for web and mobile applications. You will perform manual and automated testing, design test scripts in Katalon, and validate APIs with Postman. You will participate in Agile ceremonies and help improve testing processes.

The role requires 1–2 years in QA, hands-on testing experience, and onsite work in Jakarta. You will collaborate with developers and product owners to ensure software quality and release

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience as a QA Engineer or Software Tester.
• Experience in manual testing (functional, regression, integration).
• Ability to develop, maintain, and manage automation test suites based on requirements.
• Understanding of test automation concepts and tools (Katalon).
• API testing experience with Postman.
• Performance testing experience with JMeter.
• Familiarity with Cucumber/Gherkin for test scenarios or data.
• Strong STLC/SDLC knowledge.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Willing to work onsite.

Job description

Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts for web and mobile applications.

Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure application quality and stability.

Design and execute automated test scripts using automation testing tools such as Katalon.

Conduct API testing using Postman to validate application integrations and service functionality.

Perform performance and load testing using JMeter to evaluate application scalability, reliability, and responsiveness.

Identify, document, track, and verify defects throughout the software development lifecycle.

Collaborate with Developers, System Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to ensure application quality requirements are met.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Prepare and maintain testing documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to testing processes, tools, and methodologies.

Execute automation test runs, analyze test results, document findings, and ensure application functionality meets quality standards.

Support integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer or Software Tester.

Experience in manual testing, including functional, regression, and integration testing.

Ability to develop, maintain, and manage automation test suites based on application requirements.

Understanding of test automation concepts and experience using automation testing tools such as Katalon.

Experience in API testing using Postman.

Experience in performance testing using JMeter or similar tools.

Familiarity with Cucumber/Gherkin for managing test scenarios or test data is required/preferred.

Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Willing to work onsite.

Nice to Have

Experience testing both web and mobile applications in enterprise environments.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing integration.

Knowledge of SQL and database validation/testing.

Experience with additional automation testing tools such as Selenium, Catalon, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.

Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and system integration testing.

Experience using project management and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence.

ISTQB Foundation Level or other software testing certifications is a plus.

Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
