Job summary

PT Tata Sarana Mandiri (TSM Technologies) is seeking a Firmware Engineer in Jakarta to design, implement, and optimize embedded firmware for IoT and industrial products. You will work across the full firmware lifecycle, employing TDD and collaborating with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams.

The role requires hands-on MCU experience (STM32/RL78 or equivalent), strong knowledge of common protocols, and the ability to deliver high-quality firmware on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in embedded firmware or embedded systems development.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming; Python or Bash scripting is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with MCU such as STM32, Renesas RL78 or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, USB, RS-485, RS-232 and embedded communication protocols.
• Experience implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Knowledge of LTE Cat-1, LTE-M, NB-IoT or other wireless tech is preferred.
• Experience using Git, SVN & Jira for version control and project management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for IoT and industrial products.
• Implement robust firmware using Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and low-power operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain firmware lifecycle documentation (requirements, design, implementation, testing).
• Support product manufacturing, deployment, and continuous engineering improvements.
• Deliver projects on schedule while meeting quality and customer requirements.
