You will lead firmware development, sensor integration, and edge data strategies, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy robust IoT systems in harsh industrial environments.
We are seeking an IoT Engineer to join PT Growth Asia, Rubber Division in a full-time capacity based in Medan, Sumatera Utara. This is a strategic position that sits at the intersection of our engineering and digital transformation initiatives. As an IoT Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Internet of Things solutions that enhance our operational efficiency, product quality, and decision-making capabilities across our rubber division. This role is fundamental to our commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage in the rubber industry.
Act as a technical expert to identify, lead, and integrate new digital technologies across company operations to improve efficiency, reliability, and data-driven decision-making.
Design, develop, and integrate next-gen IoT systems, focusing on sensor technology and wireless communication in harsh environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy IoT solutions into all applicable operational and product improvement projects.
Build and test rugged IoT devices, ensuring the seamless integration of sensors and communication modules.
Validate performance and quality of IoT systems, and analyze large sensor data sets to refine system accuracy.
Troubleshoot complex hardware and firmware issues to maintain system uptime and operational integrity.
Develop and optimize firmware / embedded software for microcontrollers and microprocessors utilized in IoT sensors.
Lead the research, design, and implementation of the IoT system solutions, mainly energy harvesting and data transmission systems.
Design and implement reliable, low-power wireless communication protocols (e.g. LoRa, Zigbee, proprietary RF) for transmitting data.
Conduct rigorous bench testing, field trials, and validation of hardware and software prototypes to ensure industrial reliability.
Configure and manage IoT gateways and edge computing devices to securely collect data from IoT sensors.
Contribute to the broader digital transformation strategy by identifying and evaluating new IoT opportunities across company.
Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Familiarity with industrial data protocols (e.g. Modbus, OPC UA) and experience integrating with cloud IoT platform (AWS, Azure, Google).
Experience with sensor interface, circuit design (schematics & PCB layout), and system integration for industrial environments.
Proven expertise in designing and troubleshooting industrial wireless networks, specifically involving LPWAN.
Experience in embedded C/C++ programming for microcontrollers.
Experience in Python for data processing & visualization.
Preferably have experience in Energy Harvesting techniques (e.g. kinetic, vibration-based, or thermal) for self-powered sensors.
Preferably have experience in predictive maintenance concepts.
Preferably to have relevant certifications in IoT or cloud technologies.
