Job summary

Flex seeks an Engineering Backend Process Engineer based in Batam to support volume production and TPI products. You will manage backend processes including laser marking, de-pannel, labeling, assembly, packing, and automation, driving continuous improvement and productivity.

The role requires a Mechanical/Electrical background, strong lean/Six-Sigma knowledge, and fluent English. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize process yield and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electronics or related field.
• Proven track record in Engineering and Manufacturing in electronics.
• Familiar with Backend Assembly processes and equipment.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma knowledge.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Experience with TPI and risk awareness.
• Experience with automated processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily engineering support to volume production and TPI products.
• Set all process parameters across backend processes.
• Define and control backend process steps.
• Track and introduce new technology to improve overall backend production.
• Set up new backend equipment and verify new production lines.
• Monitor DPPM and drive continuous improvement.
• Improve OEE and sustain output growth.
• Support production with problem analysis for efficient manufacturing.
• Lead test runs, prepare fixtures, and produce producibility reports.
• Provide design feedback and risk proposals from tests.

Job description

The Engineering Backend Process Engineer will be based in Batam and will support SpinCo, which focuses on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications. This role provides daily engineering support to volume production and TPI product, managing all backend processes including laser marking, de-pannel, labelling, assembly, packing, and automatic processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily engineering support to volume production and TPI product
• Set all process parameters throughout whole backend processes
• Define and routine process control of backend process steps
• Continuously track and introduce modern technology and manufacturing concepts to achieve effective, agile overall process production for power modules
• Set up new backend equipment based on business requirements, setup and verify new production lines, and improve productivity
• Monitor DPPM in production and drive continuous improvement
• Drive improvement of OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) for continuous output increase
• Provide professional and agile support to production for problem analysis to achieve efficient manufacturing
• Be responsible for test runs in TPI projects, provide fixtures, prepare all programs, optimize overall process and make final producibility report
• Feedback lead site with constructive proposals of any design issues or potential risk from test runs or volume production

About you

• Bachelor degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electronics or relevant field
• Experienced and showing a proven track record in Engineering and Manufacturing in Electronics industry
• Familiar with Backend Assembly processes and equipment
• Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma
• Good Power Module knowledge, products and processes is a plus
• Fluent in English, oral and written
• Good communications, interpersonal, and influencing skills and leadership
• TPI experiences with good understanding and risk awareness
• Automatic experiences
